Peer Supporters are employees who help fellow colleagues by providing confidential emotional support for everyday issues, as well as being a provider of information about mental health and well-being resources and assistance in accessing them.

Peer Support Team members are not mental health professionals, but they are trained to listen, refer, and support colleagues and their families when in need.

They help to reinforce connectedness, enhance coping and resilience, normalize conversations around mental health, reduce shame and blame, and contribute to creating a thriving workplace culture.

Why People Are Saying They Want to Become a Peer Supporter

“I have lost multiple close friends to suicide. I have and am fighting thru personal trials and tribulations. I have the willingness to support others struggling. As a naturally empathetic person, I want to offer resources, kindness, and compassion to anyone in need.”

“I have gotten involved with Peer Support to help our members through difficult times as some of my mentors have helped me in the past.”
